Technical Ticking engine when cold/starting

Hi there,

I ahve a little problem with my 97 Cinquecento, its an 899cc, almost every time i start it there is a rhythmical ticking of the engine, which speeds up with revs - but completely stops when the car is warm.

I thought it might have been oil circulation but I have performed and oil and filter change and the problem is still there, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Nice one cheers mate, will try some of the tappet cleaning gum first, haven't got a clue about cleaning/adjusting the tappets manually though!
