Apart from the name, which was obviously chosen to evoke a 'retro' emotion, can any-one see a link between the Panda and this new Fiat mini car ?
I can see a link twixt the old and 'new' Mini's and a slight link twixt v-dub's beetles..........but this new Euroblob looks more like a Hyundi than anything else dosn't it ?

Would anybody like to lend me a new 4x4 (panda !?!) for a weekend ... just to do a comparison test ?

Visually there is no similarity at all, sure the new Panda was set to be called the Gingo. Renault protested that it was too similar to Twingo and Fiat decided to use the Panda name just weeks before the launch date. They are nice cars, but you can't beat the utilitarian retro charm of the old Panda. I had a washing machine in the back of ours yesterday. Do that in a new Panda!

Aren't they wonderful !?!. We took ourselves, our three large dogs and all our luggage around the lakes for a week....and even found room to sleep in it for a night......cozy !

I couldn't even begin to imagine how uncomfortable that must have been!

I slept a night in my Panda in John O'Groats. In October. I was cold.
