General The Wipers From Hell

Dunno whether i'm just having bad luck but both my cinqs have had really bad wiper systems. If the screen is dry they won't move as far and if its sheeting it down the wiper flies off the edge of the screen and then hits the passenger wiper arm when it goes back. Can anyone solve my problem.

seems to be a cinq quirk.mine are okay in the dry but on the motorway in the rain that constant thunk,thunk is annoying

anyone ever sorted it out. Ive actually hand too put my hand out of the window too push the wiper back onto the screen when i was going up the M1. Got well wet

When I got my Cinq at first I thought the wipers are terrible and had to wonder if it was really sensible to actually attempt drving in the rain but then I got some tools out and got it to the best its been by:

Get 13mm spanner and I think it maybe 20mm but could be wrong anyway check first that the wiper going into the scuttle pannel is secure - this is what the big spanner is for and reduces the thunk a bit, now turn on the wipers and see how far they rise and where they park and adjust using the 13mm spanner by loosening the nut and moving the wiper around a couple of teeth on the spindle so it parks near the bottom and doesn't hit the window rubber on the way up.

Finally check the spring tension in the wiper arm itself by lifting it off the screen, it should want to go back pretty forcefully.
