Hi guys, so after many years of not posting about my 899cc cinq is back on the road for a while now.
It's had new wheels, tyres, seicento sporting interior, headliner sprayed black, abarth sideskirts (front bumper still to be fitted), decatted exhaust and flame kit and most importantly new tappets.

The car now runs the best it ever has and sounds / drives great. Only a couple of things that are still annoying me though.
Although I fitted a full set of new tappets, after just 100 miles it has now started slightly tapping again. This sometimes goes but nearly every time I drive it now it taps. I have thought it may need an oil change again, or maybe it's not quite making enough oil pressure.

The other thing that has become apparent is the brakes need upgrading, I've been doing my research reading all the posts I can about them. So I've decided to go for the later design caliper because people say it's better, View attachment 183459
My only issue with this is I'm not 100% sure they will fit with my wheels. I have just put on compomotive mo5 14" with et20. Has anyone fitted bigger brakes with these wheels?
Also what do you guys thing of the little cinquecento's progress? Its been my play car for the last nearly 4 years so not had too much time / money for it.
Here's my old thread

Looks a cool little car. From your old thread it seems you were selling up, did you have a change of mind?

Brakes should fit with those wheels, especially with that offset as it'll sit miles away from the caliper.

How often do you drive it? Cars sitting for an amount of time never benefits (even new) tappets. Give it a good thrash, change the oil again, see how you get on.

Love the colour! The 899's came in such a diverse amount of colours, I always fancied a sporting in one of the rarer sx colours.

hi guys thought it was finally time to get around to uploading some more photos of the little cinquecento. so i have owned this car for nearly 6 years now. i had her as my first car when i was 17, i sold her in order to buy a seicento sporting but 1 month later missed her too much and purchased her back. she has been sat in my garden or driveway as a spare car for most of the 4 or so years ive had her back. its only this last year or so i have been able to treat her right and buy some upgrades for her. cant remember what i had put on my last post so will put all i can remember down here now.
compomotive mo5 wheels powdercoated white with 195 toyo proxies,
big vented front brake kit off a punto,
sideskirts
new tappets,
air horn,
momo steering wheel from the right time these were being modified in the day.,
big mudflaps,
wind deflectors,
decatt,
flame kit,
stainless backbox,
koni street front shocks,
apex rear shocks,
painted strutbrace.
i cant remember anything else off the top of my head but will add it as and when i think of owt. not sure how to upload the photos in a nice order so will probably just upload all of them at once, some pics of when ive done little jobs on my beauty. some interesting pics of the bigger brakes etc. i absolutely love this car more than ever now. it drives absolutely perfectly and now out handles all my friends cars including a modified yaris tsport and a modified clio 182 cup.
hope you enjoy, and theres plenty more to come in the future :)

hopefully the photos upload this time :)

looking cool indeed, wheels and body colour go well together

cheers! I wasn't too keen when i first put them on especially when the rears started scrubbing on the arches. But with nice wheels in the right fitment hard to come by i felt i had to make them work. A little massaging and they don't scrub too often now. It definitely gets much more attention now as well, some good a lot bad but i love it and its my toy car so not too bothered really :)

Love the white wheels on the car it makes the blue pop ?
Can i just ask where you found your brake upgrade as i would like the same upgrade for my sei
Also loving all the purple in the engine bay?

thank you!!
the purple really wasn't on purpose, it was just the most interesting colour i had lying around in my shed from another project :)
I got the brakes from a 1.9 79 bhp mk2 punto in my local scrapyard. basically theres a lot of info on here that was confusing me about which brakes to go for. i got a picture up of the type of brakes i wanted and walked around until i found some. i also managed to locate a brake upgrade from a 1.2 16v 79bhp mk2 punto for my partners seicento. however which i havnt had time to install yet but have painted up ready. both callipers look the same and have what appears to be the same shape pad, however the ones i got for the cinq are vented and the ones i got for my partners seicento are solid. both are the same size but i do much more aggressive driving so i had the vented haha. i paid £80 in total for both sets of callipers and both sets of discs.
