Nice work, but a lot of trouble for less carrying space. I'd have found a way to stretch the back end and make a useful load bed.

On the subject of practicallity: I transported 6 chairs for our diningtable in our 100Hp. As well as two swivvelchairs a week before that.

I've recently bought bicycles for the kids. Mountain bikes with 24" wheels go in with no fancy stuff necessary.

I managed to get an entire double bed in mine once, frame and mattress! Front seat was removed and it may have knocked it out of gear every time I braked

strange my mountain bike needs the front wheel taking off to fit.


in fact my small wheeled foldable only just fits although I don't bother lowering the seat or handle bars.

I totally love it. Reminds me of the old mini pickup, but much more cute and with brio. I want one. I bet its abysmal to drive!

I would be surprised if it passes regulation in the UK too. it would be classed as a self build and would need a voluntary IVA (previously uk registered vehicle) check. if passed this would then allow the V5C to be changed to 2 seater pick up. Insurance would be from a specialist kit builder or modified vehicle company, but they would need evidence of the IVA etc.

I imagine it would be no worse than a Mini pickup. i.e. extremely tail happy. It could of course be ballasted to aid balance and if it were to have latest abs and asr software it might be controllable. I would still love one even if just to look at an SMILE

It still has an MOT but this "expires soon" it will be interesting to see what happens.

Possible but would need a IVA and then insured as customer vehicle likely only get 3rd party cover at a guess
Still a lot of work and expenses

No such thing as an IVA on this side of the channel. But I am always baffled by the amount of rules you have to apply to to get a car insured. And the premiums to go with that.
But diy jobs like this are apparently no problem.

These are the youth size bikes with 24" wheels. Mine with 26" wheels needs to have the front wheel removed. 29er bikes might just squeeze in.
