The Move Is On!

The Move Is On!

Yes ladies and gentlemen, FiatForum has outgrown its current hosting package and will be moving servers sometime in the next few days.

Hopefully you won't even notice it (maybe a slight speed increase, but we're staying on the same network so wouldn't be major).

What this does mean is, (you'll like this), you will soon be able to upload your own images to be stored on FF (probably in the format : members.fiatforum.com/userid/image.jpg, maybe 1 meg each worth?), i'll let the gallery be added to by yourselfs to be hosted with FF too ( you can then edit, add remove etc from your own galleries) and a whole load of other more space related things.

So thats the good news, bad news, well not really bad so much, i'm still getting a great deal from the great people at Kiwihost (http://www.kiwihosting.net.nz) - the cost is increasing, by a lot!

This means we need more people joining, so more people can donate, basically :) - No need to panic yet, but come next year, we might be a bit short :)

Anyway, I'm excited about all the new features I'll now be able to bring to you guys... just make sure you appreciate it ;)

Phew! What a great site you've all joined!!

Cheers guys, even I can't believe quite hows its going off!

To give a rough idea, for the whole month of December 2003, this site used 14gig of traffic, 6348 visitors with an average of 204 a day. These people posted a total of 5975 messages with 280 new members joining.

This month (and remember these stats only count until yesterday, ie the 7th) we used 14.4 gig of traffic, 4277 visitors with an average of 534 a day! So far there have been 5884 messages posted and 104 members have joined!! AND ITS ONLY THE 7th FOR GAWD SAKE!! :)

I'm proud to be sure :) lol... but I think there should be a *MASSIVE* mention to Pete (fixit) as when i went awol, he really kept the place going, and his great knowledge and patience has really helped the forum grow.

So thanks EVERYONE :D
