i mean i'm sure her experience of the girl racer scene (she has a blinged punto gt) has stood her in good stead, but somehow i'm not sure i'd want her working/learning on my car

Why in spain though? That seems totally random compared to the rest of the idea for the programme. Unless you think of course that the film crew wanted a paid holiday...
