tell me about.. track days

The missus wants us to go to a track day in her mx5, it would be me that has to drive it

now, I am not really into circuit racing as I have been involved in oval racing, have even raced for four years and built many cars, I understand suspension and all that, and I have good car control in her mx5 in the wet!!

I am in cheshire so oulton park, and anglesey are accessible

can I use a standard car? can a passenger go in? do they do track days for beginners? dont want to get in anyones way on the off chance I am slow

any info would be great

yep you can use any car as long as it's MOT'd passengers are normally allowed and you both have to wear helmets.

you can get tuition but it's normally an open pit and you'd probably get a nice yellow "novice" sticker on yer car

Come to this one. You just a car with an MOT, a noise level below about 90db and a license. You can hire helmets on the day for a tenner.
