Is this forum on tapatalk? (iphone app)
Cheers,
Cheers,
Hello,They had a massive security glitch a while back, so I don't trust them anymore...
I'll wait for applications to be updated with the new API, then I'll look at it again![]()
Tapatalk really limits a forum as you can only offer the features that are in the (TT) app - for example, we couldn't have the guides, the garage, the downloads section, the events... (basically every forum feature except the posts)Hello,
Using the forum on the PC is great, but sometimes I'd like to be in touch when out, away, however you call it.
My phone browsers are set in a secure way and don't store passwords, logins, cookies etc. So it's too complicated to log in every time. I'm using Tapatalk for other forums and it is much easier.
I've read a couple of other threads here, most of them are like 15 years old.
The forum can be found on the tapatalk app, but when I'm trying to add it it justs seems to have a network problem and nothing happens. In the same time I know the network / phone work well.
Has anything changed in you attitude and plans towards tapatalk?
Another forum I’m on had tapatalk, when they had a security breach a lot of people started getting loads of spam and their profiles hacked…they had to delete the app and reset/reboot’ the forum, it was a complete pain for about a monthTapatalk really limits a forum as you can only offer the features that are in the (TT) app - for example, we couldn't have the guides, the garage, the downloads section, the events... But it also doesn't support linking posts (so none of the prefixes would work).
Basically pretty much everything I added to the default site!
Since we moved over to a XenForo backend which supports PWA - the only benefit back then that TT offered (real time notifications) was also made moot as this is now built in to the box.

Installing the forum mobile apps (Android/iOS/PWA)
Using the forum mobile apps ** We are using PWA technology, so they are NOT installed through the App Store ** I had been holding off writing this until we had both Android and iOS apps released, which as of iOS 16.4 (this is a requirement) is now the case, so I'm happy to present to you...www.fiatforum.com
And by using a PWA approach, it means I only need to work on one codebase and complete functionality is shared between desk and mobile experiences..
This does still use a browser back end though, so if you do have security set very high, then sadly you might not be able to use it
Sorry about that...
That can happen everywhere, linkedin and lastpass (which is a password manager) were hacked, too. IT companies, banks... it will never stopAnother forum I’m on had tapatalk, when they had a security breach a lot of people started getting loads of spam and their profiles hacked…they had to delete the app and reset/reboot’ the forum, it was a complete pain for about a month
This forum displays very well on tablets and smartphones, as it has a responsive design. I really don't see any need for Tapatalk.
For Android, alternative browsers are available. I last used Tapatalk (the classic version) more than 10 years ago, it was a paid app without a subscription, but later abandonned and made useless. There are only a few forums left today which don't have a responsive design, making it a pain to read them on a smartphone. This forum isn't one of them. Also, as far as I know, the tapatalk plug-in isn't free software for the forum owner.
