Tailgate washer nozzle - HELP!

Quick question please to anyone who has ever taken off their rear wiper motor.

I'm trying to remove the small circlip from the washer nozzle so i can remove the washer and ultimately the nozzle. But i cant get it off! In the Haynes manual theres a picture of the bloke casually slipping it off (17.16a) but its not happening like that!

Any help would be much appreciated

might be glued as they come off quite easily well mine does

Aha, done it now. That said, it sprung off went flying across the room and I had to spend 15 mins trying to find the bugger on the carpet!
