hi

Yesterday I put the rear of my car up on axle stands to paint the drums silver. While it was up, i had a good look round under the car, as you do. One thing I did find out, finally, after 2years, is that my sei is running on G-MAX springs. The code on them is 30 FI 14, and from that I have found out that the car is lowered 20mm.
As the car is running on 15s this is probably low enough, but my question is, are these springs any good. The second thing I noticed is that when the car is on all four wheels, the bumpstops are very close, if not touching.

So, what should I do, cut the bumpstops, or replace the suspension with a full springs and dampers kit. I was looking at the Spax PSX adjustable damping kit, but i'm not sure if this will be too low with my wheels, and they do catch when cornering anything but slowly as it is already.

Any help is much appriciated.

joe

usually u cant get much lower than 40mm on 15's without havin some scraping problems...

hi

thanks for the reply.

thats her at the moment, except the rear side windows are now limo black too and the rear lights are no longer sprayed. I am washing her in a bit so will take some updated shots.

So do you think that the PSX kit would go on ok, or would the tyres catch to much? if they do go on, i am tempted as the arches would really disappear and be full of alloy.

thanks mate

hi

im not sure ow easy they are to cut, but i have seenposts saying you can just cut them with scissors.
Im not to worried about that, its the rubbing of my 15s that worries me if I drop it any more. Has anyone got a sei dropped 40mm on 15s, and would rolling the arches help much.

cheers

i have a cinq dropped on a spax psx kit (40-50mm drop.. not sure lol). the tyres hit the arches on every little bump. i have the std 13" wheels, but have 185/60s on them. I have a rolling radius of 276mm and a circumfrence of 1734mm. Thats a lot bigger than std

what tyres do you have on your 15"'s - whats your rolling radius>?

Ive got a question bout suspension, wen i go over the speed bumps a little quick i here a knocking from the rear, i read that it can be the bushes, springs or arm but is it possible that because i have a lot of wieght in the back from my subs that they are weighing the back down and making it much more lower than it is supposed to be,

Another thing is, is there a way to stiffen up the suspension on the rear of the car, the car is extremely heavy with my sub box and amp in the back, im gonna make a new box soon thats gonna remove the excess weight, but im curious if u can get stiffer suspension to sort it out

You've had them for 2 years and you're asking if they're any good? I guess you don't drive much then to ask that question:p

To stifen the car either buy different rated springs or get adjustable dampers, both will make the ride worse.

arc - I am running on 195/45R15 tyres.
my rolling radius is 278.25
and my overall circumference is 1748.29

brickfoot - I see your point, but as ididnt fit them (came on the car when I broughtit), I dont know what standard springs feel like. I mean it seems to handle ok, but I wouldnt know if they are any differnt to standard or not.

cheers for any help

with a rr larger than what i have, i think you are going to be catching the tyres all the time if you drop it 40mm from std unless you get the arches rolled as well

hi

yeah Im trying to find somewhere to get them done, most people say itll be about30quid a corner. but I havent found anywhere in birmingham area that even doesit yet
