General Sump!

Hi.

My car has been leaking oil recently, and it has come to my attention that the sump is practically corroded. Oil is seaping through the cracks so im presuming this is the cause of the leak.

I have found a few sumps on ebay for like 30 quid, so i was just wondering how much do you think labour would cost to fit it?

Say i brought that sump, how much do you reckon the labour would be to fit it?

Or how easy/difficult are they to fit ureself?

Yeah mate, easy diy job. I did it to my mk1 sporting.

Basically remove the bolts holding it on- you will need an extension bar for your wrench and socket !!

Once removed, be sure to clean off all the old gasket, and then put a generous helping of instant gasket on before you put the new sump and gasket on.

Then put your bolts back on, making sure they are tight, but don't overtighten them as they break really easily.

Leave for a day to cure before putting new oil back in.
