Technical stupid car

Right u are the best ppl wen it comes 2 problems but i aint got a clu how 2 explain this,, wot it is, is that wen i put my foot down the power from the car isnt consistent it sorta of goes '' vrmmmm.... vrmmmmm.... vrmmmm...vrmmmm' instead of goin 'vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrm' i know this is very stupid but please help... also i hav a crack in my mid box is this the problem??

the thing is my timming belt put a hole in one of my wires, but i dont know wot the wire is, it looks like an oxygen sensor or summit... im not gud wiv electrics

It sounds like a loose connection, as you accelerate the engine rocks causes an interuption, then rocks back, makes the connection again, etc etc.

the damaged cable you speak of would be the crank sensor, the cable for it goes around the timing belt case i beleive

yes i think that would be the right sensor, so how would this affect my car?? the wire is damaged so i have taped it up with electrical tape, will this be ok? thanks

Sounds like the flat spot to me.... Mine's still doing it even with my GSR kit

Erm, doubt it.

Acc to the Haynes, the Crank Sensor's wiring is shielded(Wrapped in metal that is then earthed seperately), so breaking the shielding might result in unwanted distortion of the signal, the ECU gets confused and the engine wont work right.

It would be a replace the wire job normally, which is easy, but unfortunately due to how its wired, Id say yure more likely gonna have to replace the whole crank sensor assembly!
