Hello. I'm having problems with my fiat punto 2002 1.2 16v.

The o2 readings from the downstream sensor is only stable at 0.6 - 0.7 v during idling after closed loop has ended. I recently replaced the calayctic converter. Had worse readings before the replacement.

Could it be that the o2 sensors are bad even though they are giving readings?

Car runs great overall. No CEL after i replaced cat (p0420 before).

Added some pictures of the readings on a long drive (hot cat) and on idle.

Thanks.

Anyone? Can it be that the o2 sensor is giving false readings? From my limited understanding this is uncommon.

Also, the car do put out alot of exhuast fumes (white~).

Also i have not needed to top up coolant (read it can be from water leaking into exhaust).

Help appreciated ?

LAmbda readings are good fun to work out!

Take a look at scanner dannar on you tube he has a load of videos on issues with them.

https://www.youtube.com/user/ScannerDanner/search?query=lambda

It might be easier/quicker just to buy a new lambda sensor £30 for the pre Cat one as it controls the fuel air mixture. the second one doesn't make any difference to the mixture just gauges if your cat is working or fubar.

Blue smoke usually means burning oil I think?
White smoke is water?
