Hi all,
A friend of mine has a 1.2 Bravo (2000 reg) and he has getting a very serious problem I hope some f you may be able to shed some light on.
The problem is every time he turns the steering wheel to either full left or right lock the engine cuts out! This happens every time full lock is reached but not before then.
Anybody have ever experience the same? or have any idea what might be causing this and what might be a possible solution?
Thanks

Could be a problem with the power steering. Can't offer any advice other than that!

Does it happen only when idling or with the engine at speed too?

full lock stall

There is a pressure switch on the steering pump body which is meant to boost engine idle speed when turning to full lock. Pull off the elctrical connector and check out the risistance with a multi meter on the contacts and see if it is switching resistance high to low and vice versa when getting onto full lock with engine running. Of course you could have engine idle problems and I would firstly clean out/replace your air filter as this will give you a weak mixture at idle and cause stalling. It should never happen if you have some revs on so I assume you're talking about turning to full lock with engine at tickover (not a great idea and is quite a load on the poor engine so always back it off a touch from full lock when manouevring)
