Stoneacre Fiat in Peterborough

Has anyone any experience of them (they have only been Fiat for 6 weeks, they took over from Marshall)?

they quoted me £439.95 for a full 72k service (cam + other belts and tensioner). how is this price?

I mentioned that i was a FMCGB member (Fiat Motor Club GB) hoping for a discount but the guy said he had worked in Fiat dealerships for 10 years and never heard of it!

saying this he did offer a 10% discount and i pointed him in the direction of this forum.

Well first impressions aren't promising...

I've just purchased a 02 reg Stilo 1.6 Active from Stoneacre and the service was terrible. First off the salesman sold us a car without Aircon (despite hime telling us it did have it!). To their credit, the salesman put his hand up to it and swapped it for an identical age car with Aircon. I tried the usual blags (mats etc.) for being pissed about and ended up with a secndhand set put of a Rover 400!!!

The car was an ex National Car Rentals fleet motor and came minus the code card and half the manuals (blagged the missing ones from the car we had originally) - when mentioned it, was told that needed to come back in when V5 arives and they will sort but takes 6 weeks.

All in all, my first taste of Fiat and Stoneacre hasn't been great - only plus point was saving a packet on the car as £1500 cheaper that other local dealers but when the time comes for servicing or maintenance I'll take it to Priory in Godmanchester instead.

Ok, ok.

Credit where credit is due. I have noticed that Stoneacre FIAT have improved their service a great deal in my last two visits.

The parts department are very helpful and always offer a competitve price on accessories, Ian always goes out of his way to give you as much information as he can.

Simon in the service department, too, has been very helpful and is always pleasant and polite, his workmanship is good too!

The chap that drives you to and from the dealership if you leave your car is a character, funny and always polite, Ex-London-Cabby I think, so there's always topical conversations going on there!

I can't comment on their New or Used Car Sales Team, I'll leave that to someone who has recent experience.

I have been pleased with my last two visits so I feel that I should tell you guys.

I know Stoneacre Staff visit this site too, so this may give them something to smile about, all they need to do now, is keep up the good work!

See, I was praising them a couple of days ago but they are back on form, read below my latest correspondence with them!



Here is the terrific response I had from my local dealer Stoneacre FIAT!


Dear Mr X

Thank you for your recent letter which I recieved this morning.

I can offer you a 10% discount on the side skirt kit (Part # 50900668) and
also on the adhesive kit which you will need to fit the skirts (Part #
5908061).

The total cost to you, inclusive of VAT will be £167.02.

Unfortunately I am unable to give you any discount on fitting, as we do not
have our own bodyshop. This means that the prices are not regulated by
ourselves.

As we do not stock these items I will have to order them in. As you know
this should take two working days.

If you do decide to order these parts, plese reply to this e-mail, or phone
me on 01733 555670.

This is good of them isn't it, particularly as another dealership I made the same enquiry to offered to sell them to me for £130 and that was before I contacted FIAT UK!

I popped in to see if my Punto was caught by the metal brake line recall. While I was waiting I enquired about he cost of a replacement Remote Central Locking key fob.....£100!!!!! not happy. However, when I told the parts guy what was wrong he fixed it there and then. The micro switch had come away from the control board and just needed re-soldering (sp?). I still need to chuck him a fiver for doing the work, but I was very impressed.

I've just emailed another two FIAT dealer to get a price on them skirts, I'll post their emails on here.

It'll be interesting to see how the prices vary from dealership to dealership.
