Technical Stock air filter pipe missing punto mk1

Hey folks new hear just got a punto mk1 bout a week ago which had been sitting under shelter for about a year and a half maybe 2. So 1st week i cleaned all the crap of and siphoned out fuel etc. Started it today 1st time and just now working on engine components etc. Though I noticed someone had done a bit of DIY on one of the pipes(duct tape around it to keep it in place). Took it out and seemed more tape than pipe left, though I don't know what pipe this is as it looks like it may just direct air towards the engine. I circled the pipe im taking about in the attachment(not mine). Anyway can I buy a pipe and then adjust and fit myself or would i need to find another pipe?

You can get those pipes on halfords

they allow the engine to warm up quicker by drawing hot air around the manifold into the airbox

Forget it. That pipe only provides warm air for starting. Most people chuck them in the bin. If you really want one, FIAT will do them or somewhere like CarBuilderSolutions will probably have some convoluted aluminium pipe which does the same job.

Cheers guys probelly just leave it then maybe just get a cheap pipe for the mot and remove it later thanks again

The MOT doesn't call for it. Has no tangible effect on emissions.
