I have seen that this has been a common problem on the 1.6 in the past , but my Stilo is brand new , so why have Fiat not cured this problem. Has anyone had it fixed. If so how? I can normally jump in any car and get used to it in minutes but this Stilo requires real concentration in traffic to keep it from stalling.

Cheers Chris

cud b a number of things

ur purge valve where ur engine is gettig a varity of fuel, problem is a bad earth but as u say its brand new or cud b faulty.
Cud be ur microswitch wich cud be sticking and ur ecu is like wot the f**k is going on?

a few others thing but i wud need 2 c it but i cant so just take its back 2 fiat cos it ll b under warrenty

Could be ECU needs reset/callibrated or throttle body problems,I have changed these on stilos with less than 1000miles on clock!
There is also a ECU update for 1.6 engines (pressure sensor from memory?).

See now i didnt realise this was a problem...

I've had mine a few months now and am still stalling occasionally at lights unless i pile on the acceleration...

Drove a Bravo 1.6 before that and never stalled it!!! I thought it was just me ajusting to the car, but to still be doing it a few months on is a bit suspect.
