Technical Starting Problems

My Barchetta will not start!

When I turn the key there is nothing - the engine doesn't click or anything. However there is still power getting through as the stereo comes on and the electric windows work.

The code light on the dash goes out but the fuel injection light stays on.

I have tried using all 4 keys to start it to no avail. I have also tried the emergancy start procedure but that will not work either.

Has anyone else had similar problems or solutions?

i would have a look at the cableing around the starter and alternator.perhaps a main cable has snapped/come loose?
does the battery charging light come on?

I have the same problem on my Punto GT Mk1, but I don't have inmobilisier, and my injection light is missing all the time .

If anybody knows this problem, please go to punto technical forum!

I had this when my battery was dead. It had enough life to light up the cockpit but nothing for the engine.

Just to update.

After checking the battery, petrol etc, found that disconnecting the earth on the battery for 30 seconds and then reattaching it solved the problems. Thanks for those that have listed for your advice.
