Technical squeeky??? help me,i'm going mad!!

recently i had my clutch changed and some new brake discs/pads and the cv boots replaced! car runs lovely now but on accleration in first and second (sometimes third) i get this annoying squeekking rubbing noise from the passenger footwell area????

i've had a look at the clutch cable assembly etc. but everything seems to be all right?

there arent any moving parts down there so i think it's somethin plastic rubbing???

any ideas???

i had the same problem and it looked like the brakes had seized onto the disk as the people who put the pads on had not done it correctly. I would checking ur brakes to make sure everything is ok. Me and Brian removed the wheel and the pads and cleaned everything up and i have not had the noise since.

nah,i'm 99% sure it's not the brake's! as they were all cleaned up when they were getting put back together! i'll double check though, any other idea's?

i know since my pads have been put back on that i can slightly hear the pads rubbing up against the disc before the have fully settled back into place.

Could it be your rear engine mount on it's way out?

the brakes seem fine says the mechanic but he thinks it might be the rear engine mount isnt seated properly!!! he's going to check today!!!

thats it!!! the rear engine mount has went. going to order a new one from fiat tommorrow!

wonder how much this bits gonna cost?

er, £15 I think for the mount - I changed one (again) last month. I seem to get about 35k miles out of them

had to put in old mount until i could get the new one! dried the old one off and gave it a good clean and guess what.....the squeek has went,was a bit tempted to just leave it but i decided if it's bust get it sorted so went to fiat and guess what.....

they had one in stock!!! there's a turn up for the books! just over £17 inc vat so cant complain! getting it fitted within the next two days once the god damn rain stops!!

This part in particular is called an elastic pad and can be had from Desira for £13, I usually use them if I can wait on the part as local dealers are rubbish, they either don't know the part then promise it will arive and it doesn't of like one time told me I couldn't get it when I didn't pay for it upfront!
