hi to everybody
(I'm new to this Forum)

it seems that Fiat is going to make a Panda Sporting.
In italy some "spy" photos have already been made

:)

Holy Moly!

"La nuova versione della Panda dovrebbe chiamarsi appunto “Sporting” e sarà mossa da un benzina 1.4 16 valvole."

Sixteen valvolies!

I foresee a trip to the Nitrous Oxide shop........

More news of a 150 horse Fiat Turbo 500 here along with tales of Hydrogen powered Pandas, Gas powered cars and much else:

Suddenly, Fiats are looking even more interesting... Especially with turbos...

Do you reckon this Sporting will have to wait until the proposed Panda facelift in 2007? I'm trying to stay calm at the prospect; I loved the 1.4 16v in a Stilo I drove, loved the 1.2 Panda I drove, so put the two together... Should be a cracker.

looks good, deep audi/vw-esque grille, tints all round should look great on black paintwork, help the mouldings fair in better too, looks like still needs a drop of another inch or so, and alloys to be an inch bigger. also if you're gonna have honey comb grille (which really suits esp round the foggies) why blank it off?

i think the major problem for this variant though is the knowledge the 2007 facelift is out just a few months after it's released, could be good for bargains.

btw is that 1.4 engine going to be tweakable up to the more powerful versions the site talks about for other models?

I like it,hope it's got the option of Air-Con this time though(big failing of the Sporting IMO)

I WANT ONE AND I WANT IT NOWWWWWWWWWW!

The more I see the more I do! There's been quite a flurry in the last few days of news items, the best one I've seen is this one:

Unfortunately I've lost the link to a series of photos showing a yard full of red ones! Apparently, they are being delivered to dealers in Germany and Holland as we speak. In one of the photos in the link you can just about make out the digital A/C controls on the dash; something Andy Panda mentioned in his post, so result there!

If you rally want to buy one immediately then get over to Germany:

Can't wait for the Paris Show!

Yes indeedy, discs all round. There's a bit of contratdiction about the weight: most reckon 935kg (did they just copy the figures from the Multijet Sporting?), another it will be nearer 850kg. Either way it should stop well enough.

Oh and I found that yard full of 'Panda 100HP' as the badges say on a Polish website:

God I hope so; all the hours I've spent brushing-up on Polish, German and Italian websites it better had do! I'm sure there is a market for it here, and who knows may be FIAT will relent and bring over the Multijet in the Cross.

The text at this link is taken from the FIAT press release:

Elsewhere on the excellent Italiaspeed website there are details of the 2007 model year Pandas, new colours and interiors etc. just in case anyone is about to sign on the dotted line.
