General Speedo scale in MPH for an EU import

Hi,

This is my first post, although I have been lurking for a while.

I currently live in Germany and own a Lancia Phedra but I plan to return to the UK next year. One of the things I need to address is the speedo - this is currently in kph only but it will need to display mph before I can register the car in the UK. My car has the RT5 system with speedo and tacho on either side of the navigation display (see the attached photo).

My first thought was to find a speedo from a scrapped Ulysse/C8/807 and extract the scale. However, having had a quick look on ebay, I now understand that the speedo and tacho are swapped such that the speedo is always closest to the driver, so the speedo scale from a RHD car won't fit on a LHD car.

I am currently assuming that I will probably have to request a custom scale from one of the companies that sell these things (e.g. Lockwood) and have it fitted/checked by a garage (because the registration depends on some documented checks by a garage).

Has anyone here has already addressed the issue of a speedo scale for an imported LHD Ulysse? I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Try calling "Cluster repairs" on 01493 300 716 or 0208 986 4100. I have no connection with this firm, but they're good at what they do IMO. In this case they would swap the dial background or as far as I can see supply one for you to fit.

If it was me, I would just buy the whole cluster and swap it, wouldn't really care if the speedo was further away! The connections will be the same regardless.
