Technical speedo needle

Hi all,has any one had this problem? i have a marea weekend 1.8 elx and most of the time the speedo works fine then stop working it very intermittant all the other instruments work fine.Could this be a problem with the sender unit.Thanks in advance for any advice.

yep same thing happened to me... faulty unit...

I have a 1.8 ELX saloon, Firstly the speedo needle became erratic, then the other needles started. I discovered that a large block connector underneath the dashboard, more or less above the steering column was slightly loose, once I squeezed it tight, the problem went away.
