Hello all,
My Grandad has purchased a 1998 (S) pre-facelift Fiat Ulysse 2.0 Turbo Top of the Range.
He paid £100 for it but needs work which has been completed.
The only problems I have seen are the following:
- Speedo not working
- The interior lights do not come on when the side doors, passenger or driver door are opened. The 3 rear interior lights will only operate when the boot is open. There is a switch at the very front where the reading lights are, the middle larger lamp has a switch underneath. I've tried pushing it forward and all the interior lights turn on but it doesnt stay their? It just slides straight back again! Is this correct?
But that is all, he loves the car, he justs wants to get the small niggles sorted.
He hasnt got alot of money to fork out on it as work to the engine has already been done.
If these are simple fixes, I can complete them myself (with instructions :bang:). If not, where parts and labour can be carried out.
This forum looks great and I would love to hear any of your ideas.
Many thanks,
Alex, :)

The interior lights if working are probably ok. I'd say you are spot on and the problem is with that centre switch (reading light cluster). The spring or contacts tend to break. Easy job to change (scrap yards). You do have to take the clear plastic lens out to get to the screws and bolts. Then the whole unit will come down and the 3 switches are moulded into the plastic on the inside. What I did temporarily was change the spring/contact from one of the side switches to the middle one. This means of course that one of the reading lights won't work but lights will come on when you open doors. Try getting the springs out of a scrap yard car - pennies. All 3 switches are the same. Good luck.

Hi there, many thanks for the reply.
Yes tried this, interior lights just come on when the switch, but the door part still doesnt work. Also got a few other problems with it if anyone knows if they are quick fixes:
- Original 6CD Philips CD Changer not working.
- Speedo not working.
- Heated seats only getting the slightest bit warm
The car did sit for a long time, done 500 miles now and realised that on idle its a bit lumpy and all over the place. Its not terrible just drops 100rpm then 100rpm back up again (ONLY ON IDLE). Rev the engine as hard as you want; sounds great, no lumpiness when not at idle speed.
Any help much appriecated. :)
