This box was bought with a bent output shaft and fitted with out knowing about it, it then destroyed the diff. Today it was stripped for scrap so photos were taken as people often ask what's in the box some seem to think there are 2 rubber belts in there lol.

i think you will need to remove one or both of them big nuts and bearings to replace the belt.

Just as expected. I still have the full service notes from the Rover training course when they used this box in the Rover 100. I was always interested as I started in DAF garage in the early 70s. Had a Punto Speedgear 03-04, loved it, still miss it.

Don't disturb the belt, it will fall apart in to all the individual segments and you won't get it back together again. They are likely to be all different thicknesses to prevent resonance. A new belt will be held together and "released" once between the pulleys. Once in place they cannot escape.

looks like a honda 90;)
of course one strand of straw would reduce this box to musch:)

thanks for the pictures it always gets me how guys in an office can design stuff like this,i gave up after year 3

Hi,
nice photos:)

Do You know wher is sensor for clutch system?
I still get the fault P1709 clutch system - invalid signal.
While driving the car gently jerk, then on dashboard i get the blinking gearbox fault lamp.

Hi,
I have problem with my CVT in Punto 2 1.2 16V 80KM.

The oil and filter are new (ori filter and oil Tutela CVT NG).

Maybe You known whats wrong:)

did you put enough oil in?

There is in gearbox some sensor for clutch? Maybe this alarm is becouse some loose connection.

Is it possible to change cvt to manual gearbox? What is need? Manual 5-gear gearbox, controller for engine, dashboard what else?

So teoreticly if I will buy the same car, i mean Punto 2 1.2 16V 2001 but with manual gear box everything should be plug and play?
What with engine? May I left my old one engine and only put manual gearbox, ecu and rest staff?

Hi,
After chcecking few items I think that the problem is in torque converter/clutch.
I`d like to buy used and replace. Is it difficult to replace? Is more less like in normal gearbox that we dismountling gearbox, drain the oil and replace clutch/torque converter?
