hey,
I'm wanting to put some new speakers in the back of my cinq and hopefully replace the front ones but I'm a little lost, can anyone give me some advice on what to do and what I'd need, I don't really want owt too expensive coz im reet poor atm.
Thanks

does anyone know if you can get better quality replacements for the front cinq speakers, what size are they? do sony make a model that would fit cause i want some that will look good uncovered cause i dont want to put the grey grill back on.

Get some 10cm Components for the front and flushmount the tweeter into the door card as near to the speker as possible. Put some 10cm co-axials into the rear arm rest plastic bits too for some rear fill. Sounds sooo much better than 6x9's. Wont get people laughing at your 'boy-racer' stereo either!

Anyone know what are the best 10cm for the front (if you want the grilles kept!) I bought some cruddy 90w Boschmanns for 15 notes, but what little bass they have gets drowned out by the engine/exhaust and they dont go too loud without sounding like someone singing down a telephone either! Seen some sony's in halfords with a titanium tweeter which is hactually flush mounted, unlike the flush mounted ones where the tweeter sticks out by about an inch... but they're 40 squid and im not sure they'll be any better than the ones i got already. any ideas peeps? [?] Also which wire is which? I just guessed by trying both rotations....

Hi,

Not sure if the Sei speakers will fit in the Cinq but I got some nice JBL 10cm co-axial ones for my Sei. The bass is better but rather more refined than big....sound so much better than those "Tonsil" Polish efforts.

They are about £40 though and fitted in my pods with a bit of fiddling. The plugs for the Sei snaps apart to allow you to slide the crimp connectors onto the speaker.

HTH,

Damian:)

For bass, you're going to need bigger speakers (6x9 in the back - is this what you have?) or a subwoofer. The 10cm speakers aren't big enough to move sufficient air to create good bass. I keep the fader wound toward the back, the front 10cm kenwoods (not dual mags) are just for presence really.

Ive got a pairt of 6x9s running from the head and a Sub running from a 600W amp- my front pair are coaxials and they hve a high pass f;lter on them- set to 400Hz (A bit too low, should really be 1kHz). With the fader sort of towards the back. Bass is good, treble is nice (Its all there)!

I picked the 6x9s up new for £30 and theyre decent( saw em selling for £70 sumwhere else!)- and the amp isnt necessary if yure just running a pair of those!

THats my several pennies worth anyway:D

*works in halfords on audio desk*

kinda busy but i'll do a quick reply

the front speakers (in-dash) u'll be looking at 10cm's, can get a decent set of pioneer/kenwood (i recommend the pioneer for clarity, since vocals is what u want from in-dash) but for them your looking at just under £30 (less if u live near stratford or banbury, cus u kno me [:p]) or basically upwards from there with alpine and infinity/jbl making appearances at around £60 upwards.

anyway, hope it helps! :D

I want a cinquecento :'(

hate to reply again. but i work @ halfords, do not go for the sony's, get same clarity and loudness from the 20 quid kenwoods. or for the extra 10 note you can get the pioneers i recommended above :D

sonys 1 of those companys trying to expand too much and i'll tell u what most ppl who kno about audio will tell ya, stay clear of sony :p

i wouldnt usually recommend anything other than alpine/jbl/infinity, but those pioneers are a bargain! very clear, and had none returned as of yet :D

If I had bought all my ICE at Halfrauds, I have worked out, I would have spent around £220 more than I should!

My HU : £180 HalFrauds
£99 NewImageCarHiFi.co.uk

My Amp : £150 HalFrauds
£80 CarAudioSecurity.com

My Sub and box : £150 HalFrauds
£80 CarAudioSecurity.com

Couldnt believe some of the prices at HalFrauds, its a complete rip-off! Even dared ask about a K&N for my Cinq - £78! I have seen it for £53 from mail order!
