spark plugs

Ive just bourght a 99 hlx. dont know if its just due to the cold weather but when i start the car it really struggles on idle and cuts out if i dont immediately start revving it. Battery is only a yr old, think spark plugs are origonals. Could this be the problem? How often should i change them? Its my first car & im not too sure..?

Fiat say every 24k, I recomend every 12k.

Could always try giving the battery a charge to see if that helps

If the battery does need a charge then there is something serious wrong.

I've had this, my car is a 1.8hlx with 72k on th clock.

tried full service with spark plugs and that helped for 2 days then same old problem.

Was the idle control valve that was done in/wasn't clean.

got another one fomr a scrappie fo 33quid and its fine now, starts on really cold wet mornings without any problems.

Tom suggested cleaning it as they are 140quid plus brandnew but i got the second hand one.

My Fiat independant specialist spanner man said that when he cleans them it only works 50/50 of the time and he wasn't lieing as he was talking himself out of business not for more business.

Try the spark plugs first, 26k is too much
