Hi guys,

I'm new hear and I am after some advise... I have a 2008 fiat punto van and because it is a diesel with no rear seats and little carpet it's quite loud inside.. Not helped by the fact iv fitted alloys with low profile tyres :/ So I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on how to sound proof it? Or no were I can get the materials from? My first thought is the engine bay as it is abit of a lound rattley engine but because it's still an engine it going to get hot so what materials will give maximum sound deadening but also not melt?
Any advise is much appreciated
Steve

The main places are those that let in sound. I.e wheel arches, boot, inside door cards etc etc.

Also some people have been known to use similar stuff to what is under the carpets already. I cant remember where to get it though. Maybe the scrappy would strip a couple of cars of it for you to strategically place. Im gonna use carpet underlay, but that may be a bit to weighty for a punto engine to pull.
