Sony unit no power Punto 2004

[FONT=&quot]When I connect my build in radio, it works fine, but when I connect my Sony BT3900U it does not work. the only thing that happens is that the cd drive spins, and after that nothing.[/FONT]

is the connection actually different from the one in the fiat punto mk1 ?
I always used this radio in there with no problems/modification. just now in the punto mk2 this problem comes up.

is there a pre fabricated cable I can buy? if not is there a picture how the end result should look?


also I would like to replace the build-in speakers in the front.
The outer diameter is 170mm that's ok, should I also look for a specific build-in diameter or depth?

Just to add, the original guide that was posted above was incredibly useful. Was just a case of connecting the HU-side Ignition wire to the positive battery pin in whatever way was most convenient. Started up first time.
