i dont have anypics of the interior, but next time i drive her, i definitely will take some to post here. the interior is all custom, the dash is all the same, but the seat are red and black perforated leather, with matching doorpanels, and everything.

here is a picture of her when we just brought her home, obviously in terrible condition, and she was pretty ugly. she was an abandoned car, someone brought to the mechanic and never picked up, after 10 years, the mechanic sold it to us.

Well here's a couple of pics of mine. Just out of the paintshop last weekend.
Bought the car 2 months ago. It had been fully restored 18 months ago, it's a 1985 VS and it had those big bumpers on too which I don't care for. So I decided it was right for 'euro' conversion and a full repaint.
Suits me just fine now. I'm off touring France & Belgium next week so hopefully, the roof will be staying off for a while.
Like you say, fantastic little cars. This is my second one.:)

Thanks for the comment. It's Fiat Azzuro Rialto (light metallic blue).
I think it would look better with your wheels on though. ;)
They are very rare over here and when they do appear, they go for top money.

looks like you have some pretty serious exhaust there. I just installed, a nice cherry bomb exhaust unfort. it will not pass NY state inspection because there isnt and filter.

I fell in love with the Xy when I was a kid and saw it for the first time in the early 1980.
Always been calling it a "baby Ferrari" as the simularitys with the Ferrari 308 GTS. Cool to look at, cool to drive and very spacious for beeing a small car!

My Xy is a 1989 Gran Finale version.
Got it when I lived in London.
I've actually taken 3 Xys back home to Stockholm.
On the pics here you can see 2 of them. Both Gran Finales
The one I've kept is more or less standard except for exhaustpipe.
the white 15 inch wheels are not fitted anymore, but looking to replace the 13" for the Coupés 15".
Drove the car from the UK to Sweden in June 2004.. fantastic drive.
the only ferry ride I did was between Dover-Calais.

Got one more Xy which is under renovation. A 1988 model. In Red at the mo.. but will be in bright yellow with a Uno Turbo engine :D

will keep you posted.

Here's my baby...She was born December 1977. She's had some performance upgrades, but nothing too extreme.

Still a great looking little 2 seater, no wonder Toyota copied it for their first MR2!

Would be nice if that were true about Toyota, but they didn't - they copied the Pontiac Fiero, even down to the badge on the nose of the car. On the other hand Pontiac *did* copy the X1/9 and Scorpion/Montecarlo so it is still sortof true.

Did Pontiac make such a small 2 seater with rear / mid engine layout then or did the translation get lost between Cm's and Inches somewhere? ;)

Size and appearance wise, the X1/9 more resembles the MR2.

The Fiero was more in proportion with the Montecarlo/Scorpion but the shape of the MR2 was all Fiero while the size was all X1/9. The only thing you can be sure of is that Bertone started the whole thing with the Barchetta design...
