Technical slight whiff of petrol

Hi all, have noticed in the past couple of days that my bravo (`97 hgt) gives off a slight whiff of petrol through the vents when its first started up and very occasionally when running, but this seems rare.

As im new to the bravo (usually have alfas) is this common on these, or has anyone else had a car with this problem as Im not sure where to start, the engine bay is a little cramped to have a good nose round.

I had a problem where there was several holes that had been drilled in the boot and the fumes were coming in. hasnt smelt since i covered them in bodyfiller.
