Think this would be the right part to put this is.
Is it possible to get a sky roof (from another vehichal that someone is breaking) and putting it onto a stilo that doesnt yet have the hole for the sky roof (getting mine to have a sun roof basicly)
would it be expensive ? would it be worth it? just toying with an idea becuase i want a sunroof for next year (im fussy like that:))

Has anyone ever done it before ?

Anything is possible with money, Expensive... Very i would imagine.

Would it be worth it.......... Nope.

From someone who has one i wouldnt be in a hurry to have another.

He he yeah i know, i can do awkward too, Be a interesting project i would imagine all assuming its not anything to do with the body computer but i suspect thats where the downward spiral into the money pit would begin.

I have the panaramic roof, and you need a new headliner and supposer you could cut out a hole but there is tonnes of mechanisms

Tell you something, Dont bother having a sky roof fitted, mine has sprung a leak again and my car stinks now.

I HATE IT. That now means im going to have to spend a couple of hours trying to unblock the drains and faffing about with it.

Arggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine's brilliant - used it only today between the showers :spin:

But if you can't be bothered with general routine maintenance then maybe it was a bad choice for you

Do you really think i paid to have a hole cut in a perfectly decent roof then you are mistaken, I have never seen the point of sunroofs with aircon. As the car was 2nd hand it was already there.

As for general Maintenance, My escort estate had one (sunroof) and the 5 years i had that it never so much as let a drop in thanks and was never touched for that matter.

OK, so I think we get the message that you hate having a sunroof (if the car already has air con) and would've chosen a Stilo without the sky-roof if you'd had a choice. Many on here might consider that a little odd but everyone is entitled to their view.

What I will say is your sky-roof is almost certain to be on borrowed time due to the neglect, you freely admit, it's suffered.

When it goes, although you may well l rejoice ;), just bear in mind you'll not be able to clear the drain holes without removing the interior trim. :(

Well what happened was, I needed a estate and quickly, there was the stilo, a focus, megane and i think a 406, and a 307.

Didnt like the 406, 307 was a nice drive but only a small engine, Megane was ok but boot seemed to be smaller than the rest and also the 3 french cars were more to insure, So the left the focus and stilo and well the focus was on a 52 feb plate and the stilo on a 04 april plate. It was only about a year old as opposed to the focus being about 2 years older for the same money so you see it was really a no brainer.

Now had the focus been the same age as the stilo it would have been the focus that i had come home with and only because i have aways had fords uptill then.

And yes i dont like the skyroof but it does has its uses in the summer for the dogs but it has been greased a couple of times and if it gets to that stage where its broke the car will be got rid off and it can be someone elses problem. So it hasnt been altogether neglected, but i just have other better things to do than fixing something that is a get me to a to b and back to a again as quickly and painlessly as possible.

My car is just that, Something to convey me and the dogs end off.
