Like a really dummy, I left my interior light on my 2000 HGT on the other day and when I went to start it remarkably it was flat!!! After jump starting it everything was fine again except that now my alarm does not sound! It functions fine...indicators, central locking etc. but just silently!!!!! no beaps on arm or disarm just flashing indicators....any help would be appreciated.

Yep! bog standard! Didn't get a manual when I got it so not sure if there's a reset or what model it is... just blue key, single black button.

I have the same problem with my HGT, no siren when the alarm goes off just flashing indicators, and no beep when you open/close the doors with the remote central locking. Mine was actually fine until i had a 24k main dealer service at the end of october, then as soon as i collected it 'no beep beep' when i unlocked it, i had a word and they have run in through a full diognostic and it came out clean, they "think" it's the actual thing that makes the siren noise thats at fault but they couldn't check because they didn't have another one handy or another HGT to take it out of, they say it's just coincidence that it stopped working when it got serviced' and they say they'll be in touch about getting a new siren fitted...hmmmmm we'll see.

Sounds to me like the alarm hasn't been designed to cope very well when all power is drained from the electrics.

Well I'll be damned.... Couple of cold nights over the crimbo period, went to start... flat battery! Charged battery, car starts and alarm is is working again!!!!!!!! No idea why!
