Two pins of the socket in the inner fuse box melted because of a problem with my old headlights (headlights replaced). And now the headlight height adjustment doesn't work! Yes, interestingly all other functions, low and high beams, signals etc. work fine... Anyway, do you think I should completely disassemble the fuse box and work on my desk to clean the melted plastic from the socket inlet and straighten the two bent pins, or simply work on it with a pair of pliers and a knife? I think there are only 4 screws holding it on but is it worth disassembling?

It's not a fuse box

It's part of the body computer

You don't want to mess this up, a replacement will need reprogramming

Just needs a new connector on the harness

The BSI looks fine just a little melted

Probably nothing to do with the hight adjustment

Common problem

Repair kits available on eBay

I'd just gently bend the pins back

Oh, okay. Thank you for your comment. I just wanted to disassemble it and work more comfortably on the table, but it's not worth the risk. The best thing is to fix the pins as you say. I've already ordered a new socket, of course I'll change 2-3 pins on the socket ends.
