Think i chucked millers in mine last change, seems to be holding up well concidering the abuse it gets.
Still doesnt use any oil either.

Hi comrades if you are about to change the oil on your chariot,get yourself down to your local home bargains,should show you your local on the web site, just got home shopping, I love shopping when you get bargains, well home bargains Shell Helix Ultra fully synthetic 5w-40 5 litres just £9.99,so its going into the stilo 1.9jtd 115bhp bought 2 packs so I will be ok for some time

Home Bargains,it's good oil but for petrol not diesel £9.99 its a bargain checked on-line and it's £58.99,have you got a home bargains were you are?
I have just put my 2 on EBAY,1 litre on there is £14.99 so should get rid of it quickly ,if you go onto the home bargains web site it will tell you were your local is,I think they might sell out quick at this price!

Hi Seboni121!

Good news for you!
No need to sell the oil. The Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 Fully Synthetic which you have purchased is good for both petrol and diesel cars, just as Mobil 1 is good for both petrol and diesel.
I checked this out with Shell's technical advice department. Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 Diesel Fully Synthetic is identical in its formulation to Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 Diesel Fully Synthetic. They've labelled some of the cans 'Diesel', simply because people were not buying the oil because it didn't have 'Diesel' on the can.
Mobil 1 had the same problem and thus labelled some of their identical cans Mobil 1 Turbo-Diesel.
Only one reservation: If your car has a DPF (diesel particulate filter) then you would need Shell Helix Ultra Extra.
Otherwise, get that oil changed!

wouldn't have thought you have 'diesel particulate filter' even my jtd 16v hasn't got one.would look like an extra cat with small pipes before and after box.

Help please!I have bought the shell helix ultra fully synthetic 5-40w,for my stilo 1.9jtd 115hp,is this ok for her?someone told me its fine as long as there is no dpf?not sure if she has dpf!,and that its basically the same as the diesel ultra again I am not sure,only paid £8.99 for it!the oil in her is a cheap fs 5-40w,can anyone shine a light on this.:bang:

5W-40 fully fully synthetic is not the very best oil you can buy but it's still very good

However, personally I wouldn't use an oil that didn't designate itself for diesel use.

'Diesel' oils have greater cleaning properties as far as I'm aware.

If in doubt make sure the API specs match OK
