What does everyone use for shaving? I hate doing it, but need to be clean shaven, look stupid with a beard and a few days growth isn't allowed :(.

I normally use some Gillete thing, but the blades are crap and rather expensive! I've got a electric one, but its crap, leaves little patches all over my face.

Any recommendations would be great!

before i decided to grow my beard i used a braun series 3 electric shaver. best electric ive used but not fantastic after a few days without shaving. if u do it every day its great. otherwise i used Wilkinson Sword or Gillette 5 blade razors, Gillette was the best but the blades are expensive.

I use an acoustic razor, Gilette Mach 3 or something like that. I do have an electric one, but I only use it if I haven't had a shave for a week or so, to trim the hair to a length that the razor can do nicely.

Wilkinson Sword Quattro, I also find shaving in the shower better than trying to do it in the sink - saves on shaving foam/gel which does nothing and the heat from the shower opens up your pores, hairs are easier to cut and I always get a nice close shave.
The only problem with this is there is no mirror in the shower so I can't tell if I've missed a bit until I get out

I use Gillette Fusion power, together with shaving gel and a nice balm for afterwards.

I also don't tend to shave every day if I can avoid it. But this is helped by having a real close wet shave.

I have a braun series 3, only shave once every couple of weeks/month. just use the trimmer then if i want a close shave use the normal shaving bit. Its waterproof aswell so can do it in the shower aswell. Never used a razor i must admit.

My mom loves Pound Land, she'll spend hours in there, god knows why. Every now and again they have blades for the Gilette Mach 3 and all its ofspring, turbo, fusion etc. on sale, just a few quid a pack. My mom waits till they are and buys me a couple of packs, sometimes Fusion, sometimes Turbo doesn't really matter as I have all the Mach 3 range. Personally, I still prefer the original aluminium and black rubber handled one.

I used to use my granddad's cutthroat but got fed up of the rash on my neck so changed. Ended up trying out everything on the market but I always ended up with a bad skin rash after a day or so. I've even kept going back to shaving as newer products come out but the rash always comes back so I just put up with the grey beard & keep it trimmed most of the year. Around december I do like to grow it long - it keeps the kids thinking Santa's alive :D.
I always found the best shave to come after washing then using a moisturiser then using a very hot flannel to weaken the hairs.
My problem's always been that I would have to shave in the evening if I were going out as well as in the mornings. As it is I make do with a trimmer with the #1 guard on at least once a week.

I use a King of Shaves razor, called the A-something but cant remember, the blades aren't too expensive either

And I always shave after having a shower, using foam and then a balm + moisturiser as well

wax every month.... well Maria does it for me.

eyebrows threaded but that's done by a different lady.

Gillette Blue 2 and Dove soap works for me though the Blue 3 is also good and seems to last longer. Always shave with the grain but if like me that's never good enough then go back over the opposite way. Never go against the grain in one hit.

Been shaving since about 1973 and tried both wet and electric shaves, but find the best I've used is the King of Shaves razor with their own gel. One (or possibly more) is transparent when it's on your face which means it's easier to navigate round your goatee.

I find that that combination provides the best shaves I've had in 38 years. But, not everyone finds that others' recommendations work as well for them. It might be best to take on some of the suggestions on here, then make up your own mind.
