Hello

I decided not to go for the Guardex trreatment (or whatever it was called) as I think its ridiculously overpriced.

Just wondered , having not had a new car before, what products some of you would recommend for washing the car with. I know T-CUT Wax is a no no (so Ive heard).

Im trading in a 15 yr old Escort on scrappage and use Fairy Liquid to clean it! Im not sure thts best for the 500, though!

Any recommendations or personal tips welcomed!

Just for future reference, T-Cut is a cutting compound, not a wax. A wax only protects the car, it does nothing to restore the paint or remove scratches. (y)

but they also do colour magic type waxes lloyd ;)

What colour 500 have you gone for?

I didn't know that! But looking at the site it still contains cleaners and a glaze type agent to fill scratches, making people think they're gone for good. I'll bet it disappears at the first hint of rain!

If its jsut for a routine clean, go for a cheaper 'wash & wax' option,
but if your'e fussy and like it to be immaculate go for something pricier and use more products to get rid of minor scratches etc
