Hiya everyone.
I now know what it feels like to have a little accident (and not im not refering to crapping my pants)
About 10 mins ago i was following my mate to work and we came up to a raised roundabout which had a signpost in the middle.
He went round so i followed. Un knowing to use there was a truck just after the exit we was taking. My mate skidded and ended up with his car facing the middle of the roundabout.
I however skidded and went sideways into the kerb. I heard a massive bang and immediatly thought CRAP!
Got out and it had completly done my alloy wheel in (luckily its only a standard fiat one)
I know it aint a major accident but it still shook me up a lil.
So much for wet roundabouts and good old Pirelli P700's (NOT!)

The second accident on a slippery roundabout this week:( glad you're ok though

Thnx everyone
I think i done good actually, i could of gone straight into the back of the van or into my mates car. Either way wouldnt of been good.
Luickly i have spare alloys so a quick but carfeul drive to my tyre dealer and my car is as good as new

This is basically what happened to the wheel

I needed new tyres anyway, so just grabbed my spare wheel and its all sorted now, just thinking about how it could of ended up, either me smashing into my mates car or straight up the back of the van.
Thank god none of that happened

glad you ok dam crappy pirellies just go rid of mine for a set of bridgestone potenzas mmmm so much better.

done a simmalar thing myself once was driving in fog and all of sudden i was at a junction slammed on breaks front wheel hit curb and shatted the alloy wheel in half i then slid out into 2 lanes of traffic luckily i slid into gap and people swerved round me. i was soo lucky.

Good Idea, has anyone fixed their tracking themselfs on a cinq? If so how easy is it to do and how do u go about it.

Thanks

David
You need a set of tracking guages to measure how far out the tracking is before you adjust it, any other way of doing it is only going to make it worse.

Sam, measure the distance from tyre to arch at 3 and 9 oclock and compare to the undamaged side, this will give you an indication of how bad the damage could be. Also is you steering wheel sitting straight bang on?

Liam

My steering wheel isnt straight, mainly because when my friend was fitting my momo he done it while my car was on the grass so its slightly out anyways.
I think im gonna take it to his dad who is a mechanic and he should be able to sort it
thanks for all the support guys

Lol, yeh i know that was nothing really.
I worked alot with the road traffic police and was on the accident response for a couple of days. Some of the stuff i saw there was horrible

Does scare the life out of you though, doesn't it?

I managed to skid the car to a standstill, on and off the brakes on occasion to get steering, past three cars between the 3rd lane and armco barriers before. (Long story).

Could hardly drive after, like sitting on a waterbed with all that poo in there.
