Semi OT: GPS Receiver Placement

Ive seen it working with a hacked Tom Tom version. I was sceptical until I saw it.

I can have a word. The mate that sorted it out has access to some pretty gifted people in the 'software' area and they dont generally release to people outside of the group so theres a good chance the beta testers wouldnt have heard of it.

If it is as someone said that the tom tom just needs editting to tell it to look for internal gps as well as external then I'd think they'd be able to do that no problem.

Just spoke to my mate and he said all they did was edit the .ini file to look on internal comm ports.

Try googling...

Before anyone goes out and spends money on GPS products:

There are 3 phones that I know have have built in GPS:

O2 xda orbit

Nokia N95

Nokia 6110 Navigator

The Orbit is out now. The Nokia's are due very soon 4-8 weeks.

I have been informed that the new 6110 is a gem. Thin and light, and well made. I feel the N95 is too bulky.

The new 6110 is thought to be the next best selling phone.

Other than that this web page has lots of other mobile phone GPS solutions.

Im trying to hang on for the n95 so I can try and use it as the GPS in my carputer.
