I've started to notice what seems to be the clutch slipping on my Abarth! Can this happen on a selespeed? Anyone else had this? It doesnt do it all the time, but something occasionally does not feel quite right.

Any ideas?

Selespeed has a manual gearbox with conventional clutch - it just has a electro-hydraulic selector mechanism.

In theory it should take longer for the clutch to wear, but yes it can slip.

Out of interest (and for the future health of my wallet), what's the typical lifespan of a Selespeed clutch ?

Normal wear and tear with standard bhp i would say 80 - 90,000 miles on a selespeed maybe more.

However if you've got a remapped ecu then more torque on the clutch would mean less mileage before it goes.

All this is dependant on driving style as well.
