Hi, Please help. While my wife was driving, she noticed that it was getting harder to change gear. Then she heard a ping from the pedal area & felt something through the pedal.

I've had a quick look at it.
It wont go into gear while the engine is running. It will however go into gear when not running. Linkage seams to be working fine. Pressing the clutch pedal operates the clutch fork. I've tried adjusting the nut. Where the cable goes through the bulkhead, I can see a small crack, but it doesn't flex while the pedal is being pressed.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

Stu

I'd have a quick look at the plasric quadrant in the passenger footwell, but i;m afraid it's likely gearbox off and probably new clutch time i think!

If the fork is operating then everything up to the pedal should be intact, sounds like the clutch thrust bearing has ate through and snapped the diaphram fingers of the cover plate.
