General Seicento - Rear Wiper

I have recently bought a Seicento SX, 1.1, X-reg with a faulty rear wiper. Can anyone advise how to fault find this to see if it is a simple fuse blown or a faulty motor or corrosion on the shaft or whatever else goes wrong with these? What's the simplest or cheapest way of replacing a faulty unit?

as said check fuses etc, more than likely a dodgy motor or bad earth, replace with a recon unit or one from a scrappy if you want a cheap one
