Technical seicento: FPS (fire prevention system) malfunction

Hi,

I've had my seicento for 6 months now (second hand) and when I tried to start my car today, it said "FPS on" on the display and it wouldnt start. I looked it up, and the FPS is a fire prevention system that cuts the flow of gas to the engine. This usually comes on after the car has sustained a 'substantial impact'. Well, there was no impact, and now my car won't start.

I checked in the guide and it says that there's a restart button under the console which reactivates the fuel feeding system. Well, I pressed that various times, and tried restarting the car, but nothing.

So, I was wondering if this had happened before to any of you and what/how you managed to get it working again.

wonder if its a fault with the actual switch.maybe a way to bypass it(temporarily)

When my battery was almost dead, went pretty much overnight, i had that appear as well. Putting in a new battery and it was fine again.

replace the switch??? sold a few switches in my time... just a suggestion
