A few weeks my recently purchased seicento gears were getting hard to get in and after following the instructions given on this forum I adjusted the clutch cable by turning the nut 1 or 2 turns and the gearbox was working perfectly. Then while driving yesterday after a big snap, the clutch pedal went completely down. I thought that the clutch cable failed but while checking I noticed that the clutch cable pedal rod link ( with 2 universal joints, 9.5cm long connected to the pedal ) was broken. What I would like to ask is if this could be the result worn out pressure plate/clutch or just an accidental broken part.
Thanks

if the clutch was in good condition the pedal is feather light

if any of the mechanical bits like cable quadrant or linkage break it is normally the presage of a clutch failure

unless previous owner replaced the clutch rescently
