General sei/chinq 899 engine

Fiat 127 had the 903 version. Its the same block sleeved down to 899 for the centos.

I think it was then found in Uno 45s.

It is an old design, I think it has its roots in the early 60s, possibly even late 50s.

Its nothing to do with old 500 or even nouvo 500s. They were 500 cc aircooled twins.

i was just wondering because one of my friends at work said that he was sure the 899 was used in some of the old fiat rally cars and to try and find some of the old rally parts, as im stuck between two minds, in one hand iv been thinking about an engine transplant (1242 then turbo conversion) or selling my sei and getting a chinq sporting and doing a turbo conversion, or going down the old mini 1000 road and turboing my 899.

The 899 was used in the Trofueo rally cars, but they weren't much modified.

If you want to put an OHC FIRE engine into a cento, you need more than the engine.

Start with a Sporting or later Sei with the 1108 and go from there.

Turboing an 899 will be a nightmare, the exhaust is at the back like a mini.
