Technical Scudo 2.0 SX 2004 window van suspension clonk.

Hope all are well, long time no see.

My van developed a heavy clunk front nearside, especially while cornering, and passed its MOT like that the time before last. On reversing off the ramp, the MOT man noticed the problem. The garage did some work to fix it, which involved "grinding a slot (?)", something to do with the knuckle, and tightening something up "good thing we fixed it or it would have been expensive".

I don't think they have details of what was done, and I would like to get a used part in anticipation of the next MOT, 'cos the clonk is back. Any ideas what the problem is?

Hi again

Sounds like the bottom ball joint pinch bolt wasnt pulling up tight enough.. so they widened its slot to allow it to pinch tight

Maybe compare left to right side..and compare the slots

I freely confess I don't know what I am doing, but will have a go if I have an idea of what to do...

Is the pinch bolt & slot in the steering knuckle?

I wouldbe looking at the bottom of the wheel hub

Where the suspension wishbone attatches

There is a ball joint and a split clamp tograb it

What you described maywell be there
