So i thought i would share my new car with you,

05 Mercedes Benz C200 Classic SE Kompresser, fitted with the Supercharged K engine,Full service history 46k ect ect,

Cheers Scuderia
showing your age there old man :p
Staying standard? Sure you don't want some big AMG wheels on there???

:D,Yeah i know.....i just wanted the walnut dashboard:D,

Yeah its staying standard:),maybe have it mapped?not sure on that yet!,it gives me a semi every time i peer down over the bonnet and look down at the 3 pointed star then floor it and hear & feel the supercharger kicking in ,Love it!,

Cheers Scuderia

My family has quite a few merc's - theres an A-class, a CLK320 (with AMG bodykit wheels and suspension), a SL500 and a Brabus ML.

They are all very nice cars but they always leave me feeling a bit cold and bored. Apart from the A-class they are all quiet rapid but they don't make me want to, they make my pootle about like an 80 year old. And despite what people say the build quality isn't that great, there's just so much sound deadening you can't hear most of the knocks and rattles.

Sorry, i didn't mean to post such a negative post there but came out that way *shugs shoulders*.

edit: @nathan - yes the ecu's are wierd, we have LPG conversions on all but the A-class, and the longer they have LPG fitted the less they like petrol, the CLK noticeably judders and isn't as fast on petrol as LPG which should be the other way round. We not had the SL for as long as that is still much happier and much faster on petrol..

My dad has one of these in black :D
Don't like the way it learns your driving, my mum drives it mostly and if you put your foot down the car goes "Er, what?" and does F all leaving you waiting :p

That's strange? when the ecu is learning your driving style,if you use kick down it should still respond if its in S mode:confused:, but only on kick down,it does on mine,it may be just your Dads driving style:D,i drive about in Comfort mode too though:eek:thats what happens when you get past 40 years of age lol,i just cruse about at my leisure unless i get a moment of madness:devil:,traction control off,pop it into S mode then floor it,love it!,

I had a Merc C180 before my Renault but i came away from Merc as i needed more space for the children when towing the caravan but now they have grown up and Ive sold the van i opted to go back to Merc as it suits me better:),

Not at all,

Its everyone to there own eh,

The thing about the C200 Kompresser is it is a great driving car but like most modern cars theses days they all leave you feeling like you missing something?,well i think so,i would much prefer a car without abs power steering traction control(n),thats what i like about my Cento nothing to distract you, just get out there and enjoy the drive(y),

I couldn't agree more with you on this Don ;) as i quite often feel like my car is lacking the feeling of being involved when driving at times and wish i had still got my old MK3 Escort for that reason .

Cheers Ian

Nice new parts their Don " Yum ", that's just typical of the weather i'm afraid and thanks for reminding me about the MOT  as mines due at the end of the month so i'll have to give mine a minor service before it goes in lol .

I hadn't realised it had been 12 months since you got the Merc Don so i'll keep me fingers crossed for when yours goes in but i shouldn't think you'll have much trouble as your pretty good at keeping things in order lol .

rear shoes.. i'm suprised it has drums at the rear tbh.

It doesn't:D,it has all round disc brakes, the shoes are for the parking brake which is built into the the rear braking disc:),come on do keep up:D,

The Merc i bought back in 97,a 1997 C180 Classic was the same all them years ago with regards to the parking brake,

Well iam up early this morning to make a start to these rear brakes, like i said the fronts are done just got the rears to do then i'll give it the service it needs....... big time:eek:,

Looking around yesterday it dosen't look like its going to need much for MOT?, if anything at all,i did just fit new rear tyres:devil:,i should try and use the traction control more often to prevent wheel spin:rolleyes:........but i can't!, i like it without it to much.......diff diff:D,

Cheers Scuderia

the traction control does just come down like a ton of bricks, all out mercs are the same. I think my van is possibly the worst though. You pull out of a junction with just a tad too much go pedal and the wheels spin, then the traction control cuts so much power that you just stop dead in the middle of the road while the computer slaps you on the wrist - meanwhile that lorry you were trying to get infront of slams into the side of you..

I couldn't have put it better myself:D,the other thing i hate about traction control is.....you loose so much power with it on and again if you have the car in Comfort mode:rolleyes:sport for me thanks:devil:,some would beg to differ but iam telling you there is so much power lose i notice it big time,i do have traction on in the winter Months when its wet and cold as its all to easy to loose control of the car on a roundabout or sharp corner with traction off, especially if there is diesel on the road:rolleyes:,

Well i got the rear brakes all stripped down cleaned then rebuilt.......they where a disgrace:eek::D,iam not even going to show you them iam that embarrassed:eek:,

I also changed the fuel filter, plugs, aux belt, air filter and finally a new pollen filter,oh and cleaned out the supercharger pipe work whilst it was off when changing the aux belt,

That just leaves me to change the oil filter and top up with fresh oil tomorrow? or Monday?,weather permitting?,

Cheers Don

I can't believe its been a year myself from i bought this car,it feels like yesterday:),crazy, that said after seeing the state of the brakes i removed today you would have thought they had been on a car that car was 10 years old(n),not a 7 year old car with only 49k on the clock:eek:,and an owner that only does 3k a year:D,

Keep me up-to-date on your car mate:),don't let them get to carried away with that big poking stick:D,iam not sure if your MOT center has that new hydraulic system fitted yet?, but it gives the car......... (the shakes all of it):D,bloody Fiat near started jumping about when on it....... it got that excited:D,so did i:D,

Cheers Don
