i use my finger instead. its a good choice because my finger is always in my hand when i need it, and the power points all have switches that are desinged to be operated by finger. its a traditional system, but it works, and its cheaper than an intelliplug.

:yeahthat: how long it take me to save £19.99

It pisses my mum off when I fall asleep while watching TV, so I put the sleep timer on, and now she gets annoyed because its on standby and not turned off. I would think about buying one of those (Or getting my mum to for me ).

i got one (not the same brand) and the relay has managed to weld itself permanently on just use it as a bog standard adapter now

:ROFLMAO: I've got one (in the form of a 4 gang extention lead) and the to has welded itself on about 3 weeks ago :p

They're ok, but only turn aux's off (speakers, printer, sub etc), but will still let the computer use power if sitting in standby mode :(

As said by Jug, I just use my finger (y)

mines a 5 way 1 master 4 slaves if i can be arsed i'll have it in bits and replace the relay

i turn pc off at night, but its on all the time when im in the house.

as for TVs off standby, doesnt make a difference. So when we are out, the fridge and freezer are on. the VCR/DVDR/freeviewbox/telly/wii are in standby. My hifi is turned off using bye-bye standby remote control plugs.

oh my modem and wireless router stay on all the time as my phone uses them for emails while im in the house/gardens

whats caned our electric bills is the tumble dryer this summer because of the rain

i have no idea what the fudge eco7 is

7 hours of cheaper (about half price when I last checked) electricity for 7 hours of the night (0100-0800hrs as the mo, and 0000-0700hrs when the clocks change)

You should be able to tell by looking at your meter. If analouge you'll have 2 counters, and if digital, press the button and it should tell you (y)

its a load of bulloxe about the little light been left on... modern electronics use a solidstate (pwm) transformer which only takes the power it needs. so if its running one led and a tiny IC (which waits for a signal from a remote or button) would use a fraction of a watt. I would say if its such a TINY amount of power it would not even show up on the meter.

So any good quality computer PSU/tv/phone charger "should" be ok to leave plugged in without any (if any) worry to the leccy bill.

the ones to watch are coupling transformers these use power non stop when switched on. sadly these are very cheap to make so are still used a lot on things usualy chines crap lol but ive noticed most home sound systems and hifis still use them. Only reason I can think is because to make a PWM transformer that delivers the power needed by a hifi/sound system would cost hell of a lot more then an old transformer costing pennys.

Its all goverment crap trying to brainwash people to keep the world under there thumb
