I have had an email from TomTom re updating the software on my portable satnav unit. I have not used this unit for well over 2 years as I use the one built into the car. The reason given by TomTom to update was because the satellite system up in space is having it's clock reset and if I don't upgrade the portable unit before this happens it may not work again. Apparently this happens every 19 years.

Does anybody know if this will also effect the built in units in our Fiat cars and if so how can it be fixed.

Won’t affect the ones in the car, it only affects much older models such as the one you need to update.
