Hi all,
I have a Y Reg Punto 1.2 Sporting with a standard Fiat factory pre-installed Blaupunkt sat nav. Although pretty basic compared to most modern sat navs, it served me fine over the years until last year, when it started to intermittently refuse to detect any satellite signals. Now it doesn't detect any at all, and I get the 'no navigation disc inserted' error.
I was wondering if anyone has had any similar experiences. The software disk itself is from 2001 and has never been upgraded, but I suspect the problem is with the GPS sensor under the rear view mirror (it's 'temperament' seems to vary according to the weather...if it's cold or wet it doesn't detect any satellite signal at all; if it's hot and sunny it works sporadically.
Does anyone know if it's likely to be a fault with the hardware, with the software, or whether it's just become obsolete technology? Any feedback or advice you may have would be greatly appreciated...
